The main objective of AAWSG is to
educate the public about the Arab culture and Arab
Americans. The following programs and activities were
established by the society in order to achieve this
goal:
-
Programs
for Members
AAWSG coordinates regular enrichment
programs for the membership. Guest speakers present
topics of educational and cultural nature. In addition,
members and their families attend an annual fund-raising
event. These events include programs, presented
by youth and children from our community, highlight
Arab and American values and traditions.
-
Arab
World Resources
AAWSG has developed a selection
of educational material to assist in teaching
about the Arab world, the Arab culture, and Arab
Americans. Our members use these resources to
give presentations at local schools and colleges,
and at different civic, cultural or other institutions.
-
Participation
in Cultural Events
AAWSG has a commitment to educate
the general public about the rich Arab heritage.
This is achieved through participation in several
international and cultural events in the Atlanta
area, such as the Festival of Trees of the Children's
Healthcare of Atlanta.
-
Charitable Activities
The society engages in charitable
activities on a limited basis as
a fundamental service
to the community.
