  • Enrichment Programs for Members
    1985-present

    One of the society's objectives is to educate members about issues important to them as Arab American women. Guest speakers are invited to talk about topics ranging from civic issues such as "The Civil Rights of Women in the U.S.", to health issues, such as "Women's Health: a Preventive Approach". In addition, some programs are coordinated as group tours to historic sites in Georgia, arts exhibitions, and other interesting cultural events in the city.

  • Arabic Classes Program
    1986-1998
    This program for adults and children with different levels of proficiency was coordinated and implemented by AAWSG as part of Mercer University Atlanta continuing education program. The program offered classes devised for the different levels of knowledge of its students, adults and children

  • Providing Educational Resources
    1985-present.

    AAWSG developed a number of educational resources about Arab Americans and the Arab World. These resources include brochures, booklets, slides, videos, and posters about the Arab countries and the Arab culture. They are valuable tools to our members when giving presentations in schools and other institutions.
    In addition, AAWSG provides speakers to lecture or participate in conferences relating to Arab Americans and to the Arab culture n the Atlanta area.

  • High School Model League of Arab States
    1991-present
    This two-day conference for high school students in Georgia helps educate about important events and issues affecting the Arab World. AAWSG displays a poster exhibition about the culture of the Arab world and helps sponsor a Falafel luncheon for the participating students.
    The High School Model Arab League is sponsored in Atlanta by Marist School, the Arab American Women's Society of Georgia, the Arab American Fund of Georgia, and the Palestine Human Rights Campaign. It is sponsored nationally by the National Council on US-Arab Relations, the League of Arab States Information Center, the US-Arab Chamber of Commerce, and the Southeast Committee on US-Arab Relations.

  • Programs for Youth and Children
    The society encourages Arab American youth and children to be proud of their heritage through programs designed to educate them and to strengthen the bonds between them .

  • Stars of our Community
    1992-1993
    Organized by AAWSG, these educational and cultural talent show programs allowed Arab American children to share their talents with the community.

  • Children's Workshop
    2002-present
    These workshops are organized by the society with the objective of educating Arab American children about their culture and heritage through creative and fun activities.



 

  • Youth Quiz Nigh
    2002
    This entertaining and educational event offers Arab American youth a chance to research Arab history and culture. The youth are responsible for preparing and hosting the program, as well as judging the participants.
